7th World Print Triennial
"Does there exist in the world a lighter thing, a more delicate thing, a more convincing thing, a more intimate thing than a small engraving offered in your thirsty eyes ? Can one find something simpler than a small bit of paper carefully embellished by the hands of an artist who invites you to live his concept of beauty, to share his message, his ideas ? In our strange universe where a authentic and close friend communication between human beings is dangerously lacking, in this world oppressed by consumption with excess, a link is offered by the artist this creator of beauty always present despite everything, beauty whose man remains avid. And what’s the meaning for us ? Small images, small steps towards the immense promise of the future... " Slobo General manager of the Triennial.
An important catalogue was published for each one of the these events, indexing the participating artists and representing approximately 15800 works on paper.



The originality of this event is that each artist give a print to the AMAC which constitutes a print room and a print exhibition forming a priceless cultural heritage. These 5 cabinets add up 2392 prints :

228 engravings for the first triennial print room - 1988,
428 engravings for the second triennial print room - 1991,
831 engravings for the third triennial print room - 1994,
467 engravings for the fourth triennial print room - 1997,
438 engravings for the fifth triennial print room - 2000.

What’s more, the print room is itinerant...
World Print Triennials
The finest action remains the World Print and Original Engraving Triennial that Slobo created with the support of the municipality and professionals of the graphic art. This became an important event and have acquired an international fame very quickly.

Why small sizes ?
"Certainly, the large sizes have advantages - they give more possibilities for the ones who focus on the external effect, who wants to impress the public by the aspect of immediate communication to mark the space of a showroom or a room or a public place. But the engraving of small size is closer to the origin of this artistic practice. It is intended to be contemplated in all intimacy, we hangs it in places we like to hold for ourself where we invite only close friends and rather often we does not hang it, we keeps it in albums and we watch them during privileged moments we regale the pleasure of contemplating the works art created by one for another. How many nuances, how much significance to find out - not only one small world but real universes of ideas, of feelings, of questions and answers !

Why engraving ?
